One of the remaining original students of the late GM Venancio "Anciong" Bacon is Sergio Arcel. Unlike the other Balintawak cognates like Teovel's, Villasin's and Cuentada Eskrima now renamed by Rodrigo Maranga as Combat Eskrima Maranga have taken off to different dimensions and methodology.

Balintawak International now still existing under the de facto leadership of John Villasin (with the ailing Nilo Servila still recognized as the President) although still true to the spirit of GM Bacon, has been modified by the late Atty. Jose Villasin.

The Teovel splinter group has also made modifications to the system, while Maranga's C.E.M or Combat Eskrima Maranga has retained very little of the original Balintawak curriculum by introducing original techniques of the late Grandmaster Timoteo Maranga.

The Balintawak Club with its Chapter headquarters at Antonio's Place along N. Bacalso St. is run by a motley group of dedicated Eskrimadors that have remained faithful to the original unadulterated curriculum of the Balintawak inventor GM Venancio "Anciong" Bacon.
